This blog was created as a means of support to those who have lost someone to suicide, or are grieving the death of a loved one. Grief is messy and complicated. The more we learn about it, the easier it makes it for us to get through to a place of peace. This is part of my healing process, to share my grief with others. This is raw; this is real and uncomfortable. I'm putting it all out there for you to see.
I left a comment on your xojane article, but it case you don't see it I wanted to post it here because I feel what you, your late husband & children went through is such an injustice.
To my knowledge & in my own personal experience, Effexor has the absolute WORST reputation when it comes to causing & exacerbating suicidal thoughts & actions in depressed people. I grew up in a home with two actively suicidal parents, neither of whom considered or attempted suicide before they were prescribed Effexor. I was on it briefly & that was the only time in my life I engaged in self harm. People have sued their doctors for ever prescribing them or their loved ones that drug. Toxic Psychiatry by Dr Peter Breggin is an extremely important read for anyone trying to make sense of psychotropic medication, the brutish damage it does to the minds of already fragile people, & both the psychiatric & pharmaceutical industry's shocking refusal to take any responsibility for the lives they ruin in order to push harmful pills on unsuspecting people in order to make a buck. We should be able to trust our doctors to have our best interests at heart, especially when we are in a weakened state. Sadly, we can't; because keeping people sick is a lot more profitable than curing them.

I agree with your last sentence. Did any of the people who sued win? Just curious.
